I am trying to gather information about Alexander Baird who was a publican in Poynzpass around 1900. I believe he died in 1902. His wife was Martha Jane McAllister and they had several children the youngest of whom Florrie (Florence) married a John Morton and lived in the village until her death in the mid-80s. Prior to arriving in Poynzpass Alexander had been a butler in The Isle of Man, Yorkshire and around Lambeg but I believe he originated in Northern Ireland. If anyone can shed some light on this family I would be very grateful. Other children's names are:- William, Rowley (f), Margaretta/Daisy, Alexander, Arthur, Robert and Albert.
