Hi, and congratulations on a great site.
I am a direct descendant from James and Jane Little who were Bounty Emigrants to Australia. They arrived at Corio Bay in 1841 and in the following 25 years established a family and considerable property holdings.
I believe James and Jane (nee Boyd) were married at Newry around 1819, James being born either at Poyntzpass or Newry in 1799.
Prior to their emmigrating they had five children either born at or near Poyntzpass, the eldest, William about 1823.
Some of my info tells me James and Jane were tenant farmers at Tandragee, although I have no way of knowing for sure.
My wife and I are coming to Ireland during July and would like to explore any source of info we can.
Is there some kind person there who may be able point me in the right direction for info sources?
regards,
Lindsay Little
